World’s Highest Hotels
Being the travel junkie that I am, I am always fascinated by where my travels take me. Recently, I had the opportunity to stay at one of the world’s highest hotels, The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong. The hotel is 484 meters above ground and offers not only breathtaking panoramic views of Hong Kong, but also delivers world-class service that one might expect at a 5-star hotel.
My adventure began at Hong Kong International Airport where a personal driver from the hotel came to pick me up in a luxurious Rolls-Royce Phantom and quickly whisked me to The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong. Upon arrival, we boarded an elevator that travels at 9 meters per second going from the ground floor to the 103rd floor in approximately 50 seconds.
While the hotel believes guests would feel “at home”, it was much more than that. It was more of an “at a palace” feel with creature comforts far beyond that of a “home” including state-of-the-art Bang & Olufsen speakers, two huge flat screen TVs, in-bath TV with walk-in shower, fine china, a butler at your beck and call, and much more.
To me, what stood out at this property was hotel’s ability to offer a high-level hard and soft product. The rooms and facilities were new and well-maintained, and it was evident that thought was put into what materials were used when creating these spaces. As for service, wherever you went, the staff would make you feel like you were royalty.
If given the opportunity to stay at The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong again, I would do it in a heartbeat. It was truly a one-of-a-kind of experience that embodied luxury travel in every way.
